Stewards Fund Challenge

The Stewards Fund has a challenge for us—a $30,000 challenge! All increased donations and new donations made between November 1, 2011 – January 31, 2012 will be matched. For current donors who donate more in this year than in 2010 The Stewards Fund will match that increase, dollar for dollar. This all–or–nothing challenge grant will also match all donations made by new donors between November 1, 2011 - January 31, 2012. Please take part in this wonderful opportunity.

Should you give by December 31st or in January?
If you have donated to PLM Families Together in the past couple of years, your gift will be compared to the previous calendar year to determine the amount of increase in giving. Only the increased amount can count for Stewards Fund match. Therefore, if you give between November 1 - December 31, 2011, your total gift for the 2011 calendar year will be compared to total gifts given from January 1 - December 31, 2010 and any increase over your 2010 donations that is given during the Nov 1- Dec 31 timeframe will be counted as match. Also, for those who give between January 1 - 31, 2012, your gift will be compared to the total amount given from January 1 - December 31, 2011.

Here is an example - Jane gave $200 in February 2010 and $200 in February of 2011. If she gives another $200 before December 31st, 100% of her gift will count as match because that will make her total giving for 2011 $400 and the $200 increase was given during the match time period. However, if she waits and gives her $200 in January, none of it will count because it is the same amount that she gave in calendar year 2011.

Homeward Journey Society

The name embodies our mission in helping homeless families on their journey to achieving independence and a stable home. Members of the Homeward Journey Society demonstrate their commitment to helping Wake County’s most vulnerable citizens – homeless families and their children - through multiple-year pledges. This is an elite segment of our Sustainabilty Fund.

Sustainability Fund

Any multi-year or ongoing gift is considered a part of our Sustainability Fund, including Homeward Journey Society gifts. This is our way of ensuring diversity in funding and a strong foundation for the continuation of services year after year after year. As the Sustainability Fund increases, we can assure that our primary servcies for homeless families continue and that new projects can transition from pilots into primary services.

Growth Fund

The Growth Fund supports new project development. This fund includes special grants and individual donations targeted for expansion of services or the creation of new services like our two pilot projects for 2012 - Re-Housing Support and Coordinated Intake.
